START WITH THE SUMMARY, THEN FOLLOW THE EVIDENCE

Reports & Alerts

SiteWatch Reports & Alerts provides executive and technical views of the retained inspection snapshot, event history with HTML and JSON exports, scheduled digests, priority alerts and retention settings for WordPress maintainers and managers.

Report Views

Give each reviewer an appropriate level of detail.

Start with the executive review signals, then open the technical findings, inventory and recorded evidence behind them. Both views use the same stored report context.

A manager can identify the next decision while a maintainer inspects the relevant file, component or service record.

Keep the report period and collection state visible when sharing a saved result.

Finding Context

Explain what needs attention without overstating certainty.

Critical, high, medium, low and informational categories organize supported review signals. The review index describes triage workload; it is not a probability that the site has been compromised.

Shown, retained and total counts keep collection/display limits visible. Completed baseline context gives file findings a reference point.

Recorded policy actions, review holds and observe-only matches remain different outcomes. A report should preserve those distinctions instead of presenting every signal as a blocked attack.

History & Exports

Share the retained records with their scope intact.

Filter available event history and export supported records. HTML and JSON report exports provide readable or structured routes to the saved result.

An export does not remove collection caps or recreate discarded history. Keep the relevant counts and dates with the shared material.

Review the recipient and the information included before sending a technical report outside the maintenance team.

Scheduled Digests

Create a regular review point after inspection completes.

Configure periodic reports with the intended recipients and operational scheduling path. The digest uses the completed inspection context rather than implying a continuous live report.

The daily full scan and email report is a separate setting from the scheduled file inspection and stays off until it is enabled. The chosen hour, in the site timezone, starts the scan, and the email follows its completion. The scheduled file inspection itself runs daily by default without email.

Review an actual delivered message and the underlying stored snapshot when establishing the schedule.

Mail transport setup belongs to Forms & Email; the schedule and report content belong here.

Priority Alerts

Notify on qualifying recorded conditions.

Configure supported priority notifications, deduplication and maintenance-aware behaviour. Planned maintenance can suppress relevant immediate notices while retaining the observations.

An alert describes the recorded condition meeting the policy. It is not a guarantee that every incident will be detected or delivered through every external mail service.

Choose recipients who can interpret the finding and perform the appropriate review.

Delivery & Retention

Keep notification outcomes and record lifetime visible.

Review report-send state, failures and accepted transport outcomes, with documented bounded retries. Confirm actual recipient receipt separately from a service accepting the send.

Set supported retention periods according to operational needs. Removing older records also changes what later history and reports can inspect.

Preserve evidence needed for an active investigation before changing retention.

A Practical Report Review

Choose a stored report, inspect the summary and at least one underlying finding, verify counts/scope and then share it with the appropriate recipient. Test schedules and alerts through their actual delivery route.

Questions About Reports

Is the review index the chance of an infection?

No. It explains review workload, not a probability of compromise.

Does an accepted mail status prove delivery to the inbox?

No. Inspect the recipient mailbox and relevant mail/spam handling separately.

Which export formats are available?

HTML and JSON report exports provide readable or structured routes to the saved result. An export does not remove collection caps or recreate discarded history.

Can alerts be paused during planned maintenance?

Yes. Maintenance-aware behaviour can suppress relevant immediate notices while the observations are retained.
