THEME TEMPLATES FOR ELEMENTOR FREE

Vendix Templates

New

Vendix Templates lets WordPress sites design theme templates with the free Elementor plugin: posts, pages, archives and the 404 page, and with WooCommerce the product, shop, cart, checkout, order received, My account and order tracking pages. Conditions decide where each template shows, and the header and footer stay in place.

Template Types

Design every kind of page once and reuse it.

Vendix Templates is its own menu in the WordPress admin, with All Templates, Add New and Conditions. The same menu holds the Header & Footer Builder, the Section Library, the email designs and the PDF document designs.

Group Template types
Content Post · Page · Archive · 404
Store (with WooCommerce) Product · Shop · Cart · Checkout · Order received · My account · Order tracking

All Templates. The list shows every template with its type, its conditions and an on/off switch, so a template can be prepared and switched on later.

Add New. Types are grouped into Content and Store, and each type says what it still needs, for example WooCommerce for the store types. Editing templates needs the permission to edit theme options.

A template replaces the content area of the page. The header and footer of the theme, or of the Vendix Header & Footer Builder, stay around it.

Conditions

Decide exactly where each template appears.

Each template gets one or more conditions, with exclusions. Condition values are found by a search as you type, and one row can hold several values.

  • Content: single posts and pages, posts in a category or tag (subcategories included), posts of an author, author and date archives and every archive of a taxonomy.
  • Store: all products, product categories, tags and brands, single products, the shop page, attribute archives and product search results.
  • Order received: order status, payment method and product category. These match only for a visitor whose order WooCommerce has verified; other visitors see the template set for all orders.
  • Checkout and account: a "Pay for order page" condition for checkout templates, and account pages or logged-out visitors for My account templates.

The Conditions screen shows which template wins on each kind of page and warns about ties and about Elementor Pro. A value that was deleted or moved to the Trash is marked, because it never matches.

Starter Layouts & Preview

Start from a finished layout and check it with real content.

Every template type has two starter layouts, "Vendix classic" and "Vendix feature", and a blank start. A new template opens in the Elementor editor, built from Vendix widgets and the design system colors.

Preview with. The Elementor editor shows a template with sample content or with a chosen post, product or archive. Apply and preview redraws the preview without closing the editor.

Order received preview. An order received template can be previewed with a sample order kept in memory. A user who may edit orders can also choose a real order by its number.

Missing parts. The editor says what the live page would lack, for example a product template without ARN Product Hooks or an order received template without ARN Order Items.

Post & Archive Widgets

Build posts and lists from widgets made for templates.

Seven widgets in the ARN Smart Widgets group draw the parts of posts and archives:

Widget What it shows
ARN Post Content The text of the post or page, or the page's own content, such as the cart and checkout forms
ARN Post Meta Author, dates, categories, comments and reading time
ARN Author Box The author's picture, name and biography
ARN Post Navigation Links to the previous and next post
ARN Comments The comment list and form
ARN Archive Posts The posts of the archive as a grid, list, classic or overlay layout
ARN Pagination Numbers, previous and next, or a "Load more" button that works with page caches

These widgets also work on any page that shows a post or a list.

Product & Shop Templates

Shape product pages without breaking WooCommerce.

Product and shop templates are built from product and shop widgets that the Elementor panel lists, in the ARN Smart Widgets group, only in the editor of a Vendix template of those types.

  • Product page: ARN Product Gallery, Add to Cart, Product Tabs, Product Meta, Store Notices and Product Hooks print WooCommerce's own gallery, form, tabs and meta line. Variations, zoom, the lightbox and the parts other plugins add keep working.
  • More on the product page: ARN Linked Products shows related products, upsells and cross-sells, and ARN Delivery Estimate shows the expected delivery window with a countdown.
  • Shop and product lists: ARN Products shows the products of the page with WooCommerce's own loop and card, sorting, page numbers, "Load more" or infinite scroll. ARN Product Filter sits in a sidebar, a top bar or a drawer on phones.

A product that asks for a password shows the theme's password form; the template appears after the password is given.

Cart, Checkout & Account Templates

Design the pages around the cart, the payment and the order.

Cart, checkout, order received, My account and order tracking templates keep WooCommerce's own forms. ARN Post Content prints the cart, the checkout and the account pages, and the widgets around it add the rest; these widgets have their own ARN Store Pages group in the Elementor panel.

Page Widgets
Cart and checkout ARN Checkout Steps, Free Shipping Bar, Trust Badges
Order received ARN Order Status, Order Summary, Order Items, Order Addresses, Order Extras, Create Account
My account ARN Account Navigation as a vertical list, tabs or tabs with icons; a scrolling row or a drop-down list on phones

The order received widgets print WooCommerce's Order Confirmation blocks, so WooCommerce decides who may see an order. ARN Order Extras shows the bank details with Copy buttons and a payment reference. Where a template holds one of these widgets, the page does not print the same part a second time.

The order tracking template uses the page set as "Order tracking page" in the Shipment Tracking settings.

Dynamic Tags

Fill any Elementor field with the right value.

Five groups of dynamic tags fill Elementor text, link and image fields, also in Elementor 4 elements:

  • Vendix Post: title, excerpt, date, author name and biography, categories or tags, featured image caption, reading time, views and comment count, plus a link to the post, the author's posts or the comments and an image tag for the featured image, the author's picture or the site logo.
  • Vendix Archive: archive title and description; on the shop, product searches and product archives they follow WooCommerce.
  • Vendix Site: the site name.
  • Vendix Product: price, sale badge, SKU, stock, rating, gallery, brand, add to cart link and more.
  • Vendix Store: cart item count, free shipping remaining, order number and total, customer name and more.

The Company Value, Company Dynamic Link and Company Logo tags of Company Data work beside them.

Themes & Elementor Pro

Keep the theme's header and footer around each template.

Vendix Templates is developed and tested with Vendix Theme, and the full fit is there: a template fills the theme's own single and archive places. It runs on other WordPress themes too, classic and block themes, where a template replaces only the content area. See Vendix Theme.

  • Elementor Pro: where Elementor Pro's Theme Builder fills the same place, Vendix steps back and shows no template there.
  • Blank pages: pages on Elementor Canvas or Full Width get no template.
  • Export and import: templates move with Elementor's export and import, conditions included. Imported templates come in switched off.

Vendix Templates is part of Vendix Pro and needs Elementor; the store types also need WooCommerce.

A Practical Template Workflow

  1. Open Vendix Templates → Add New and pick a type.
  2. Start from "Vendix classic", "Vendix feature" or a blank layout.
  3. Check the template with Preview with and real content.
  4. Set its conditions and look at the Conditions screen for ties.
  5. Switch it on and open a few matching pages on desktop and phone.

Questions About Vendix Templates

Do I need Elementor Pro to design theme templates?

No. Vendix Templates works with the free Elementor plugin. When Elementor Pro's Theme Builder fills the same place, Vendix steps back there.

Do my checkout and account pages keep working?

Yes. The cart, checkout and account templates print WooCommerce's own forms through ARN Post Content, and the order received widgets print WooCommerce's own blocks.

Will a template replace my header and footer?

No. A template replaces the content area only. The header and footer come from the theme or from the Vendix Header & Footer Builder.

Can I move templates to another site?

Yes. Templates move with Elementor's export and import, with their conditions. Imported templates arrive switched off, so nothing changes until you switch them on.
