SHAPE THE CATALOG AROUND THE WAY YOU SELL
WooCommerce Store Tools
Vendix Store Tools set the WooCommerce store type, add product identifier and internal cost fields, assign categories or brands in bulk and limit delivery to chosen areas. Every Vendix store module, including these tools, is turned on separately under Vendix → WooCommerce and stays off until you switch it on.
Store Modules
New
Turn on only the store features the shop needs.
Vendix organizes its WooCommerce features as store modules on Vendix → WooCommerce. Each module has its own tab and switch, stays off until you turn it on and loads its files only on the pages where it works.
The four tools on this page manage the catalog and checkout rules. The other modules have their own pages:
Store Features. Quantity buttons, quick view, variation swatches, a sticky add to cart bar, wishlist and comparison lists and an AJAX product filter. Explore Store Features
Bundles & Quick Buy. The "Vendix Bundle" product type with bundle prices, shared stock and cart suggestions, plus Buy now, WhatsApp and marketplace buttons. Explore Bundles & Quick Buy
Cart, Delivery & Stock. Free shipping progress, a second reward tier, gift wrapping, estimated delivery dates, low stock badges, back-in-stock requests, the lowest price before a discount and size charts. Explore Cart, Delivery & Stock
Reviews, Loyalty & Recommendations. Frequently bought together and similar products, recently viewed items, photo and video reviews, loyalty points and multi-currency compatibility. Explore Reviews, Loyalty & Recommendations
Shipment Tracking & Emails. New Tracking numbers on orders, an "Order shipped" email, an order tracking page and email designs. Explore Shipment Tracking & Emails
PDF Documents & Contracts. New Invoices, credit notes, packing slips and proforma invoices, and checkout contracts accepted with one required box. Explore PDF Documents & Contracts
The product, shop, cart, checkout, order received and account pages themselves can be designed as Vendix Templates.
The store modules run on other WordPress themes too. They are developed and tested with Vendix Theme, and the full fit is there; see Vendix Theme.

On wide screens the tabs form a grouped menu on the left (Store, Sales, Customers and Pricing); on small screens they become a drop-down list. The store modules need an active WooCommerce installation. While WooCommerce is off, their tabs show a notice and nothing loads on the site. Background jobs of the store modules come back by themselves after Vendix was deactivated or its licence was locked.
Store Type
Keep product configuration aligned with the store.
Store Type matches the WooCommerce product editor to how the store sells. Turn on "Enable Store Type control" and choose one store mode:
- Mixed Store: physical, virtual and downloadable products are left as they are.
- Physical Store: Virtual and Downloadable are removed from the product editor, and products stay physical on every save.
- Virtual Store: new products start as Virtual, with no shipping required.
- Digital Store: new products start as Virtual and Downloadable.
Allowed product types (Simple, Variable, Grouped, External/Affiliate) are chosen separately and only limit what new products can use. An optional switch stops saving the variation price-cache meta that WooCommerce rebuilds by itself when it needs it. In a Physical store, the order screen also hides the Downloads box.
Review existing items for a mode mismatch before applying a broader change. A settings save never rewrites existing products: "Scan existing products" counts the items that do not match the mode, and "Convert matching products now" updates them in small batches only after you start it.
Keep the selected store model consistent with fulfillment, download and checkout requirements.
Identifiers & Cost
Maintain public identifiers and private commercial details separately.
Product Identifiers & Cost adds eight independent fields: MPN, Barcode / GTIN, GTIP / Customs Tariff Number, Manufacturer, Supplier, Cost, Shipping Cost and Other Costs. Each field has its own switch and label and can appear on variations, as a products list column and in Quick Edit; a required field shows a reminder when it is left empty.
Barcode / GTIN uses WooCommerce's built-in Global Unique ID field when it exists, so no duplicate field is created. The identifier fields can also be shown on the product page.
Cost, Shipping Cost and Other Costs are never shown on the site or in structured data. With Cost on, the product editor shows a live margin estimate as you type, and the list column shows the cost with the net margin after tax and the other cost fields. The margin is calculated each time and never stored. For a variable product, the list shows the cost range of its variations, and the identifier and cost columns can be sorted.
MPN, GTIN and Manufacturer can be added to Product structured data. When Yoast, Rank Math, SEOPress, AIOSEO or The SEO Framework is active, Vendix leaves that output to the SEO plugin to avoid two Product schema blocks; the fields still work everywhere else. These records are not a full accounting or tax-reporting system.
Bulk Assignment
Organize selected products in one reviewed operation.
Bulk Brand & Category Assign adds a "Bulk assign" bar to the WooCommerce products list. Tick the products, then add them to a category, remove them from one, replace their categories, or set or remove their brand. One change covers up to 500 products, and products the user cannot edit are skipped.
Each change keeps the previous categories or brand of every product, and the last five changes can be undone from the same bar. A product that loses its last category moves to the store's default category. Review the selection before applying a broad catalog action, then inspect representative products afterward.
Brand changes need a brand taxonomy: WooCommerce Brands, built in from WooCommerce 9.6, or a common brand plugin; without one, only categories can be changed. This changes product organization; it does not generate product descriptions or infer the correct brand automatically.
Delivery Rules
Make service-area limits visible before the order completes.
Delivery Area Rules allow or block delivery by country, province or state, district or city, neighborhood and postcode. Choose a policy, "Deliver everywhere except the blocked areas" or "Deliver only to the allowed areas"; a block rule always wins over an allow rule.
- Matching: a rule matches only when every field it fills in matches the address; districts and neighborhoods are matched by the words the customer types, without regard to accents or capital letters.
- Postcodes: exact (34000), prefix (34*) or range (34000-34999).
- Messages: one message for refused addresses, and an optional message per rule; up to 100 rules.
For a refused address, the classic checkout and the checkout block remove the shipping methods, show the message and do not take the order.
Delivery Area Rules only decide which addresses the store delivers to. Shipping methods and costs still come from the WooCommerce shipping zones, and estimated delivery dates come from the separate Delivery & Trust module, which calculates them per shipping zone.
Review a served address, a blocked address and an edge-case postcode after changing the rules. Delivery-area controls need the site's real fulfillment policy; they do not provide a shipping-carrier contract.
A Practical Catalog Setup
- Turn on Store Type, choose the store mode and scan existing products before converting any.
- Enable only the identifier and cost fields the team will fill in, then test one product of each relevant type.
- Apply bulk category or brand changes to a reviewed selection and inspect representative products.
- Add delivery rules and test a served address, a blocked address and an edge-case postcode at checkout.
- Turn on the other store modules one at a time, and confirm checkout separately from administrative list changes.
Questions About Store Tools
Are internal costs displayed to visitors?
No. Cost, Shipping Cost and Other Costs are never shown on the site or in structured data. Review custom templates and third-party exports separately.
Do delivery rules work without WooCommerce?
No. These are WooCommerce tools; while WooCommerce is inactive, rules cannot be set up and nothing runs at checkout.
Can a bulk category or brand change be undone?
Yes. The last five changes can be undone from the "Bulk assign" bar on the products list. Review the selection before applying a broad catalog action, then inspect representative products afterward.
How are postcodes matched in delivery rules?
Postcodes can be exact (34000), a prefix (34*) or a numeric range (34000-34999). Rules can also use countries, provinces or states, districts and neighborhoods in allow or block mode.
Which store tools are in Vendix Free?
Store Type and Product Identifiers & Cost are also in Vendix Free. The scan-and-convert tool for existing products, Bulk Brand & Category Assign, Delivery Area Rules and every store module on the linked pages are Vendix Pro features.
